Studio van Schuppen has specialized in recording classical music for over 40 years. The studio has not only been a central part of musical life in the Netherlands but also a reputable international company with a long and storied history. Having been at the heart of classical music recordings in the Netherlands for over four decades, Studio van Schuppen never ceased to impress her audience of well-known musicians by turning in-depth knowledge and extensive experience into highly treasured music productions.
Studio van Schuppen’s expertise in technique and music production are highly valued, resulting into an impressive list of artists, ensembles, record labels and orchestras with national and international reputations that all vouched for the recording quality delivered by our studio.
.At Studio van Schuppen we make accurate notes during recording sessions in order to edit in an exact and precise fashion but we always pay special attention to ‘musical’ aspects of the recording. A lot of attention is paid to "producing" during the recording sessions as well as to the editing sessions to finding the right balance between sought after technical perfection as well as the required natural musical and human expressiveness.
Jochem Geene, who has years of experience as a professional performing musician, knows how to combine these two worlds in a way that always leads to an optimal final result.
Innovation
An everlasting urge to pioneer state-of-the-art technological innovations proved essential in delivering productions that meet the highest standards of the global music industry and beyond.. A wide range of key musical assets guarantees optimal recording, editing, mixing and mastering conditions to our highly recognized engineers.
Recent consolidations on the infrastructure level and joint ventures with key technology providers / software vendors, allowed Studio van Schuppen to standardize on surround recordings in DSD / DXD format. Of course, the studio is already pushing the boundaries of this innovation to facilitate, for example, studio recordings that sound like the best concert hall recordings, equivalent location recordings and popular music productions based on the very same format and sound quality.
We are proud to mention our acoustically designed recording room (90 m2), control room (40 m2) and edit rooms, our fantastic Steinway & Sons model D274, our superior collection of microphones, state-of-the-art (digital and analogue) mastering equipment and excellent monitoring (Studer, Crane Song, ATC).
